Industry experts expect hybrid events to double this year, just as the premier global provider of onsite event services Boomset, has been acquired by Hopin.
KO partners Kevin Gibson, Charles Ciaccio, and Chris Achatz and attorneys Logan DeSouza and Michael Wysolmerski advised Boomset on the acquisition.
Boomset is an all-in-one event management platform that enables immersive and interactive experiences from anywhere. This acquisition will enable Hopin to be a destination for onsite technology and services, including badges, self-service kiosks, and QR code check-in; access to innovative technology solutions like tracking management and cashless payments; and meaningful data insights that include check-in/check-out data, session attendance, lead retrieval, and full event demographics.
“After a year of tectonic changes, events are being reimagined,” wrote Dhruv Kumar, GM Hopin Events, in a recent blog. With this acquisition, “Hopin is expanding beyond virtual events—becoming an all-in-one event management platform that now offers onsite capabilities for hybrid and in-person events.”
“Hopin has been transformational for virtual events and joining the organization will be powerful for our team and event organizers, particularly for the future of hybrid events.” Kerem Baran, CEO and Co-Founder of Boomset, said in a press release.
“We believe an all-in-one platform, including Boomset’s seamless onsite event solutions, will deliver on Hopin and Boomset’s mutual mission to provide the best experience for our customers while continuing to scale at ‘Hopin speed,”
