Ben is a transactional attorney who advises startups, small and medium sized businesses, and growth companies with their intellectual property and technology transactions, IP protection strategy, and data security and data privacy strategy. He has 25 years of experience structuring, drafting and negotiating almost all forms of commercial contracts, including SaaS and cloud services agreements, software license agreements, distribution and reseller agreements, professional services agreements, technology transfer and development agreements, electronic commerce agreements and life sciences agreements. Ben was instrumental in designing KO’s award-winning, industry-leading Contracts Management Service, built on a three-pronged approach that combines people, processes and technology to address evolving client needs and deliver the most value to businesses.
Prior to joining KO, Ben was an attorney in the Technology Transactions Group of Cooley’s Colorado office and an attorney in the Business and Technology Group at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Palo Alto, California. Ben received his law degree in 1995 from the University of San Francisco School of Law where he was member of the Law Review. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1985. Ben is admitted to practice in Colorado and California. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the Boulder County Bar Association.
In addition to caring about his family and friends, Ben cares about giving first, acting with integrity and treating others with respect. He’s an avid (but slow) cyclist and runner and amateur Instagram photographer.
