KO Law PC (KO) is seeking a Staff Accountant with 5+ years of experience to join our finance team. This position reports to the CFO and can be based out of our Denver or Boulder office.

Duties
- Responsible for the accounts receivable function of the firm, including appropriate handling of client trust funds
- Respond to client and attorney inquiries regarding client billing and payments
- Responsible for the accounts payable function of the firm, including issuing 1099s
- Responsible for general ledger account reconciliations
- Responsible for credit card reconciliations
- Responsible for calculating local sales use tax for Denver and Boulder offices
- Assist with financial reporting and data collection
- Assist with payroll review and reconciliation
- Assist with expense budgeting and forecasting
- Assist with review of annual tax returns
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting principles and procedures
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a law firm or other professional services firm
- Payroll and tax experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of Excel
- High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Strong mathematical, accounting, and analytical skills, with demonstrated critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Customer service orientated; can interact professionally with staff, attorneys and clients
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with flexibility and sense of humor
Compensation & Benefits
$75,000 – $120,000 annual salary based on experience. Quality performance bonus eligibility. Other KO benefits include:

- Opportunity to participate in 401K plan with firm match up to 4%
- Potential to earn year-end bonus
- Participation in annual profit-sharing plan, subject to vesting, which can result in approximately $30,000 of annual firm contributions to benefits and retirement
- Transportation or parking stipend and a monthly technology stipend
- Life insurance and long-term disability coverage
- 2 month paid sabbatical after 7 years of service
