KO Client Sustainable Beverage Technologies Raises $6 Million

KO client Sustainable Beverage Technologies (SBT), which makes the production of fermented beverages more profitable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable, recently raised $6 million for its alcohol-by-choice draft system.

The round was led by repeat investor Cleveland Avenue, a Chicago venture firm, with participation from Middleby, a publicly traded, Illinois-based foodservice equipment manufacturer.

Founded in 2008 to pioneer the beer-making process for backcountry hikers, SBT soon shifted into kegless draft systems for the craft industry as a whole and developed its BrewVo tech and its proprietary machine called NexDraft, which has four taps that can pour alcoholic and non-alcoholic brews at the click of a button.

KO partner Jon Taylor and attorneys Ryan Sykora and Michael Wysolmerski represented SBT in the financing. Read more in BusinessDen.
