Robert Donald

Robert is a results-oriented technology transactions and commercial attorney with a pragmatic and business-focused approach.  Robert’s practice focuses on assisting technology clients of all sizes, ranging from startups and growth companies to Fortune 100s, particularly in structuring and negotiating complex commercial and technology-related transactions.  He has experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts, including SaaS and cloud services agreements, software license agreements, data license agreements, distribution and reseller agreements, professional services agreements, technology transfer and development agreements, e-commerce agreements, and manufacturing and supply agreements.

Before joining KO, Robert practiced in the technology and commercial transactions group at a major international law firm.  Prior to that, he managed the legal function at two emerging technology companies. Robert has been recognized by his peers and included in the 2024 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America. Robert received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado and his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School.  Rumor has it, Robert has strong opinions on the use of the oxford comma.

In his free time, Robert is a climber and passionate adventurer driven to excel in his sport, work, and home life. He has climbed across the United States and in Europe, with notable ascents of El Capitan and Half Dome in Yosemite. He is a committed husband, son, brother, and friend, and values fostering these important relationships in his life.  He counts himself lucky to consider many of his clients and associates among his friends.
