KO Client ThingVC Launches to Support Underrepresented Founders

Longstanding KO clients Mike Gellman and Chris Glodé recently co-founded and launched Denver’s newest venture capital firm ThingVC.

The micro venture capital fund aims to support underrepresented entrepreneurs who have historically been excluded from access to capital. The co-founders hope to see applications from veterans, immigrants, formerly incarcerated people, people with disabilities, and more. Selected entrepreneurs will receive seed funding and access to mentorship and support from the co-founders’ business networks.

Denver businessman Gellman is also the founder of Spire Digital, a digital transformation company acquired by Kin + Carta in 2019. His co-founder Glodé was an investor in Brandfolder, the digital asset management company acquired by Smartsheet in 2020.

“KO Law Firm has been a long-time, trusted advisor and guided us through successful exits in our prior roles,” said Gellman. “When we decided to do this thing and give back to other entrepreneurs, we asked the team at KO to help with our formation, business model, and investment structure.”

KO partner Jon Taylor and of counsel Melissa Mellen represented the ThingVC in its formation. Read more in the Denver Business Journal.
