Zach Cookston is a transactional attorney who advises clients on a broad range of commercial and technology transactions and intellectual property matters. His practice focuses on assisting clients in their day-to-day operations, including negotiating SaaS agreements, licensing, commercialization, and strategic commercial agreements. Zach has experience working with companies at all stages of growth to draft and negotiate complex transactional documents, navigate the legal and business issues that arise throughout the business lifecycle, and structure agreements to best protect clients’ individual interests.
Prior to joining KO, Zach was an associate at a leading national law firm and a regional law firm, where his practice included a blend of intellectual property, commercial and tech transactions, and corporate governance for a variety of clients ranging from startups to publicly traded corporations with operations across the globe. Zach is admitted to practice law in Colorado.
Zach is a graduate and recipient of a J.D. from Columbia Law School. In undergrad, Zach obtained a B.A. in international politics and Mandarin Chinese from the University of Mississippi with honors. Outside of his legal practice, Zach spends his time exploring the great outdoors with friends (and his energetic cattle dog, Oswald), playing pickleball, enjoying the Denver music scene, and performing comedy in Denver and the surrounding area.
