Malia is a transactional attorney who advises clients on data privacy and security matters. She provides pragmatic, risk-based solutions to clients navigating the divergences in the constantly evolving legal landscape, including the GDPR and CCPA. Malia routinely assists clients with privacy policies, responses to consumer privacy requests, data processing agreements, data transfer safeguards, marketing activities, and privacy implications in mergers and acquisitions.

Malia is a current member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and former Denver/Boulder KnowledgeNet co-chair. Malia has been recognized by her peers and included in the 2024 Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America and Super Lawyers Rising Stars for 2024. Prior to joining KO Law, Malia was a member of the data privacy teams at Husch Blackwell LLP and Ballard Spahr LLP.

Malia grew up in the Western Rocky Mountain region but went out east to earn her undergraduate degree from Boston College and her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law.  She moved to Denver in 2017 to be near her family and enjoys getting up to the mountains with her husband, two boys, and Vizsla.
