Dan is a transactional partner who assists companies in connection with complex commercial and technology transactions. His clients range from early stage startups and emerging companies to private and public multinational corporations across many industries, including software, energy, life sciences, hardware, Internet and eCommerce, consumer products, and professional services.
Dan has significant experience counseling clients on, and crafting and negotiating agreements involving, intellectual property, software licensing and subscriptions, technology development and transfers, data and privacy, employee and contractor relationships, contract manufacturing, product sales and distribution, real estate leases and strategic partnerships. He has significant experience with both domestic and international matters.
For many clients, Dan serves in the capacity of outside general counsel and as the primary contact for legal advice and assistance. In this role Dan is able to take a more strategic approach concerning a client’s legal needs, which often includes developing contract playbooks, advising and training sales teams on key contract concerns, implementing contract management processes, and developing strategies to reduce contracting cycles and timelines.
Prior to joining KO, Dan served as general counsel for Tendril (now Uplight), a venture-backed technology company. Dan received his law degree from the University of Colorado Law School where he was an editor of the Law Review. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with honors, from Pepperdine University. Dan is admitted to practice law in Colorado and California.
Dan enjoys travel, mountain sports, and spending time with his family.
