Legal Industry Veteran Katy Phillips Named Chief Financial Officer at KO Law Firm

Koenig, Oelsner, Taylor, Schoenfeld & Gaddis PC (KO Law Firm) has named Katy Phillips as the firm’s new Chief Financial Officer. In her new role, Katy will lead KO’s finance team while providing strategic oversight of the firm’s finance-related processes.

Based in Denver and Boulder, KO is an innovative corporate and commercial law firm with a team of experienced lawyers and a practical, efficient, business-focused approach.

“Katy is a strategic thinker and innovator, with an abundance of financial management experience, much of which has been in high-growth, client service-focused environments like KO,” said Jon Taylor, KO Managing Partner. “She is committed to bringing new efficiencies to KO while maintaining the extremely high levels of support we offer our clients and attorneys. As we continue to grow and differentiate ourselves in the market, we are thrilled to have her on board as our chief financial officer.”

Prior to joining KO, Phillips worked with a Denver-area law firm, leading them through an extensive financial management software conversion. Her work enabled the firm to quickly re-open its virtual doors following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the transformation has received industry accolades. She also previously held financial management roles at Jones Day and Nextel Communications.

In keeping with KO’s commitment to the community, Katy serves as board member and treasurer of the Mile High Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators, a role in which she works closely with the rest of the board to further the organization’s mission to promote and enhance the competence and professionalism of all members of the legal management team.

Phillips received her Bachelor of Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1990.
