KO Partner Jennifer Rosenthal Named Lawyer of the Year

Congratulations to KO Law partner Jennifer Rosenthal on being selected as a Lawyer of the Year for 2024 by Law Week Colorado. Jennifer was recognized for her legal excellence, leadership, and community involvement in the last year and over the course of her career. Jennifer was one of only three lawyers selected across the state.

As a corporate partner in KO’s Boulder office, Jennifer focuses her practice on corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, and company formations. Jennifer’s passion is to empower entrepreneurs and investors to make a meaningful difference through their respective businesses. As part of her long-time track record of community involvement, she also recently co-founded the Colorado Women in Venture Capital Group that aims to build a more diverse and inclusive venture ecosystem and increase support for women in the venture community.

“Jennifer stands out in her fields of mergers & acquisitions and venture capital, two areas where women have historically been underrepresented, due to her business acumen, negotiation skills, and relationship building skills,” said KO Law managing partner Jon Taylor. Jennifer was promoted to be KO’s first female equity partner in 2016, the fastest ascension to partnership by anyone in the firm’s 20-year history.

In the last year, Jennifer has represented dozens of top national startups and established companies, including fast-growing clients in some of the most innovative companies nationwide in AI, cybersecurity, cleantech, food, beverage and consumer goods and more.

“The greatest thing about my job is providing the legal and business advice and guidance that goes along with growing or selling a company, and in part that is legal, but in part, that’s also practical,” noted Rosenthal. “When somebody sells their company, it’s a life-changing event and to be a part of that is incredible.”

Jennifer has earned several other awards and recognitions over the course of her career including Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Woman in Business for 2023; Boulder Valley’s 40 under Forty Honoree, which recognizes business leaders under 40 years of age who are making a mark on their communities through professional success and volunteer activities; Super Lawyers Rising Star, honoring stand outs in the legal industry and awarded to less than 2.5% of attorneys; and Silicon Flatirons’ Entrepreneurship Supporter of the Year, recognizing her contributions to Colorado’s entrepreneurial community.
