Charles Ciaccio Promoted to Partner at KO

Ciaccio’s renewable energy and transactional expertise are key to KO’s corporate practice

KO Law Firm is pleased to announce the promotion of Charles Ciaccio to partner, effective January 2019. Charles’ practice focuses on business transactions, including company formation, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financings, and he represents clients in a variety of industries, including renewable energy / power generation, energy technology, software and SaaS, consumer products, manufacturing, and biotechnology.

“Charles is an exceptional attorney, trusted business advisor and leader of our renewable energy practice,” said Brad Schoenfeld, managing partner at KO. “We look forward to Charles’ continued success and leadership as a partner at KO.”

Charles’ work as a leading attorney in the renewable energy industry recently earned him a spot among the Denver Business Journal’s list of “Who’s Who in Energy” 2018-2019, a distinction that recognizes key players in the energy industry. Charles continues to leverage his expertise by representing a variety of renewable energy companies – from startups to large-scale developers – in their major transactions, including formations, project acquisitions and sales of projects to utility companies. He also gives his time to help advance innovation and growth in the Colorado cleantech industry, including work with the Colorado Cleantech Industries Association’s Cleantech Fellows Institute (now Energy Fellows Institute) and the Rocky Mountain Cleantech Open.

Charles also serves as outside general counsel to a number of startup and growth companies, represents venture capitalists and angel investors in their investments, and has a sizeable credit finance practice, representing both lenders and borrowers in most types of loan transactions.

Charles earned his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, order of the coif, and is licensed to practice in both Colorado and California. Prior to law school, he taught high school mathematics and Latin at a public school in the Bronx, New York. He received an M.A. in secondary mathematics education from the City College of New York and an A.B. in Latin from the University of Georgia, summa cum laude.
